Beneficiaries of the CM Punjab Scholarship Scheme
At the conclusion of the seven-year initiative, it is projected that approximately 30,000 students throughout Punjab will benefit from scholarships. These financial awards are designed to alleviate the burden of higher education expenses for students who may face challenges in funding their studies. The initiative seeks to ensure equitable access to educational opportunities for all students, irrespective of their financial circumstances.
Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship
- The individual applying must reside in Punjab.
- The student is required to be registered at an accredited institution of higher learning.
- The family income of the applicant should not surpass the limit established by the Punjab Higher Education Commission.
- Applicants must show satisfactory academic achievement, generally maintaining a specified minimum grade point average (GPA) or its equivalent.
CM Punjab Student Scholarships Program 2024
An agreement was established between the Punjab Higher Education Commission and various private universities to facilitate the implementation of this initiative. This year, the government will allocate scholarships totaling Rs 7 billion to students. The Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme is designed to be executed over a span of seven years, with an overall budget of Rs 131 billion. Additionally, the budget will see an annual increase of 10 percent to maximize the number of students who can take advantage of the program.
